Meet the Team

Paul Fenton

After undergraduate training in Edinburgh, I completed Orthopaedic training in Birmingham. followed by specialist fellowship training in Limb Reconstruction Surgery in Bristol and Foot and Ankle Surgery in Sheffield as well as an AO Trauma fellowship in Tampa, Florida. Since 2015 I have worked as an Orthopaedic Trauma Consultant at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital which serves as the major trauma centre for Birmingham and the surrounding region. I am part of the the limb reconstruction and orthoplastic teams, receiving tertiary referrals from across the region.

I specialise in complex lower limb trauma including periarticular fractures, foot and ankle trauma, orthoplastic injuries and post-traumatic limb reconstruction. A significant proportion of my practice involves the use of circular fixators for both acute and delayed trauma reconstruction, non-union, malunion and bone infection.

I provide orthopaedic input for the Amputation clinic at Queen Elizabeth Hospital and BAC and have extensive experience of both primary and revision amputations. I have been involved in the Osseointegration service for veterans in Birmingham since the start of the project in 2016.
